Juniper Flat Fire Safe Council (JFFSC) was founded with a grant from the Bureau of Land Management, administered by the California Fire Safe Council. The grant was written by Mt. Shasta Vista Volunteer Fire Company (MSVVFC) Fire Chief Mary Cameron, Colleen Welch, who was the chairperson for the fire company auxiliary, and Marjorie King, a local community activist-at-large. The grant also founded and funded the JFFSC annual Chipper Days project.

JFFSC serves an area including and surrounding Mt. Shasta Vista Property Owners Association (MSVPOA), and which is about six times the size of MSVPOA. It is the same area that is served by MSVVFC. You can learn more about MSVVFC here www.msvvfc.com.

There is some confusion about the name of JFFSC. The founding membership of JFFSC voted to use the name identifying the area on official maps, which is "Juniper Flat Fire Safe Council". To my knowledge the name has never been officially changed but is more often than not referred to as "Juniper Flats Fire Safe Council".

Although I am no longer able to participate due to business demands, I remain interested in seeing the organization flourish, and so I am publishing the minutes and agenda here.
